Lately so many people are asking me about saturated fat, and if its really that bad for us???…….So here’s what happens after you eat that cheeseburger & fries, or juicy steak & loaded potato with sour cream, & you can decide for yourself:

IMMEDIATELY-

  • Triglycerides levels (a measurement of fat in your bloodstream) start to rise.
  • Cholesterol levels are increasing contributing to plaque formation.
  • Clotting factors in your blood have been activated.

TWO HOURS LATER-

  • Your triglycerides have increased by 60 percent.
  • Your blood flow has decreased by half.

THREE HOURS LATER-

  • The lining of your arteries have lost elasticity slowing blood flow.
  • Blood vessel function has become abnormal.

FOUR HOURS LATER-

  • Your blood has gotten thicker which slows blood flow even further.

FIVE HOURS LATER-

  • Your triglycerides have now increased by 150 percent.

SIX HOURS LATER-

  • The anti-inflammatory effect of “good” cholesterol has been significantly compromised.

CONSUMING HIGH SATURATED FAT FOODS for the LONG TERM-

  • A continuous buildup of plaque in your arteries, which restricts blood flow.
  • Decreased blood flow leads to decreased oxygen supply, which can lead to a heart attack.
  • You are in danger of developing fatty liver disease, as well as a host of other issues such as certain cancers & now even Alzheimer’s because what’s good for your heart is good for your brain, and vice versa. ( upcoming blog).

I hope this clears up the issue whether a high saturated fat meal is really that bad….I’d love to help you learn to enjoy delicious, yet nutritious food in order to Nourish your Wellness…your body deserves this!!!
